In 2020, an estimated 374 million new cases of curable STIs (gonorrhoea, chlamydia, syphilis and trichomoniasis) occurred among 15–49 year-olds worldwide, including 82 million cases of gonorrhoea. GARDP is partnering with Entasis Therapeutics on a new gonorrhoea treatment called zoliflodacin. A phase 3 trial is underway in four countries, including the Netherlands.
